G+ Web Preview Update

G+ Web Preview Update
As promised, we’re continuing to listen and respond to feedback on the new Google+.

Today we’re launching a number of updates to our Web preview including:
– Adding a 3 column stream view for very wide screens
– Adding the ability to reply to comments in context
– Removing the limit on circle streams in the menu (previously 6)
– Adding the option to view ‘Posts from Circle’ from the Following screen

These changes (which you can see in the image below) will be rolling out today. And look for more updates on Android, iOS, and the Web soon. Thanks~

How I Use Friends+Me and Google+ To Rule Social Media

How I Use Friends+Me and Google+ To Rule Social Media
http://goo.gl/9O3q3G

I’m a Google+ User. I share to multiple social networks daily, but I do almost all of it just by sharing to Google+. For the most part, though, you wouldn’t know it.

Go to Facebook, and I look active daily on that network. Go to Twitter, again, daily. LinkedIn, Pinterest, the same. I even look like I run a Tumblr blog of memes purely for fun. And I am active on at least some of those daily, reading posts and interacting with other users and responding to their interactions, but I almost never post to any of them.

Almost all that a multi network presence requires me to do is little more than share to Google+, thanks to a powerful, clever, and highly customizable cross-posting tool called Friends+Me. Because of this, I can actually enjoy using multiple networks, instead of it becoming a chore.

Here is how I use Friends+Me to be almost everywhere online that I want to be, and how even the laziest person who wants to be active on multiple networks can benefit.

(And yes, before you ask it… this very Post will be shared out to my other networks, as well.)

CircleCount Chrome Extension Update

CircleCount Chrome Extension Update
v2.6: The New Google+ Fixes + The Circle Streams

► (new) direct links to your Circle Streams.
► (fix, new Google+) sort communities alphabetically.
► (fix, new Google+) sort collections alphabetically.
► (fix, new Google+) sort comments by number of +1’s.
► (fix, new Google+) highlight comments.
► (fix, new Google+) follower history on posts pages.
► (fix, new Google+) remove +1-suggested posts.

The New Google+ is available and most of our features need a fix.
But we can’t just update the extension to a version 2.6 without adding something new 😉
As you can see in the screenshot, in the popup when you click the icon of the extension you will find direct links to your circle streams. Something that has removed by Google+ in the new UI by default and can only be enabled again for the first 6 circles. With CircleCount you will get access to all of your circles 🙂

Check it out and let us know if you see anything that is not working as it should.
btw: there is a donation button on the settings page 😉

We recommend to keep the classic Google+ until we fix things.

We recommend to keep the classic Google+ until we fix things.

The new Google+ changed not only design but also communication protocols which affected Friends+Me chrome extension.

I recommend to switch back to classic Google+ until we fix all incompatibilities. Everything should be resolved within a day or two.

Thank you all for your patience.

UPDATE 11-20-2015: All’s good people 🙂 New version 1.0.0 of the Friends+Me Chrome Extension is out with full support of the new Google+ UI.
So you don’t have to worry to switch to the new Google+ UI if you want to.
Thank you all for your patience!

Dive into the new Google+

Dive into the new Google+
As Eddie Kessler shared this afternoon (goo.gl/2QjBGx), we’ve spent lots of time talking to people who are passionate about Google+. We visited them in their homes, we invited them into early testing communities and we learned more about how and why they use Google+. The predominant answer? Having a great place to keep up with and talk about their interests. From Astrophotography (goo.gl/HRQmIh) to Wild Hummingbirds (goo.gl/6FscI6), people are not only discovering amazing things, but meeting others who share their passions as well.

Today we’re taking a big step toward making Google+ an even better place for your interests. To do so, we’ve drastically simplified nearly every aspect of the product. You’ll see this clearly in our new navigation centered around Collections and Communities. Collections let you immerse yourself in content about topics like surfing (goo.gl/vvv5QD) or tiny tilt-shift photography scenes (goo.gl/nWyicL) . Communities enable groups of people with the same interests to join up and geek out on anything from Game of Thrones (goo.gl/aaqtgq) to Painting (goo.gl/kmlM7m). With Collections and Communities, discovering amazing things is simple: just follow or join whatever happens to pique your interests.

But we didn’t stop with Collections and Communities; the new Google+ also makes it easier to post, search, connect, and keep up with great content in a fully redesigned home stream. And we’ve worked hard to make our new web experience load fast and work beautifully on devices of all sizes.

You can preview the new Google+ on the web today by signing in and clicking “Let’s go” when you see the prompt. (And since not every feature of Google+ has made its way into this new design, for now, you can toggle back to the classic Google+ with one click in the bottom left-hand corner.) In the coming days, we’ll roll out updated apps for Android and iOS.

While this is an exciting new beginning for us, we’re definitely not done yet. We got here by listening and learning, and will continue doing so. Please visit our Help Center (goo.gl/gWsFeh) or drop us a line in our support community (goo.gl/eMFVj) to share your thoughts, questions, and more.
