Faster Web Pages on Android

Faster Web Pages on Android
Today we’re starting to roll out support for Accelerated Mobile Pages (https://www.ampproject.org/) in the new Google+ Android app (version 9.2). Now when you browse G+ on Android, look for the little lightning bolt icon to load articles up to 4x faster and using up to 10x less data.

As always, please send us your ideas/issues using our Send Feedback menu item as that’s the best way to ensure we’ll see them. Thanks~

New Notifications Experience on Android

New Notifications Experience on Android
We’re turning on an improved Google+ notifications experience on Android (with version 9.1.0). This new system will deliver Google+ notifications more reliably and includes some new features as well.

For starters, you can not only mark all notifications as read but filter all your notifications by All, Unread, and Other Updates as well. (These filters are already available on the Google+ Web and iOS apps.)

With this update we’ll also hide application menus when you scroll through notifications to give you a full screen view of what’s happening. Just scroll back up to reveal the menus again and/or tap the Notifications tab to quickly jump to the top of your notifications list.

As always, please send us your ideas/issues using our Send Feedback menu item as that’s the best way to ensure we’ll see them. Thanks~

Today we’re starting to roll out two improvements to the Google+ notifications experience on the Web. In addition to being able to mark all notifications as read, you can now mark individual notifications as read too. We’ve also added thumbnails and icons to help you easily scan your notifications list and pick out which ones to act on.

As always, please keep sending us your ideas/issues using the Send Feedback menu item.

Create Google+ posts via drag & drop

Create Google+ posts via drag & drop

[Update: The feature may not yet be available for all users. Please stay tuned & thanks for your patience!]

I’m delighted to say that by very popular demand, Google+ has added several new ways to start posts & add photos:

● Drag photo(s) into any stream to which you can post in order to start a new post with the photos attached
● Drag photo(s) into a post box to attach them
● Drag photo(s) into the image picker (inside of a post box) to attach them
● Drag a photo (singular) onto a comment to attach it to the comment

Give it a try & please let us know what you think.

Thanks,
J.

Google Plus is Not Dead – Helps with SEO

Google Plus is Not Dead – Helps with SEO
Mike Blumenthal discussing a case study we worked on together where we were able to move the needle on Local and Organic search within 18 days and continued to impact search rankings even after the Possum update.

Using semantic relevance techniques and posting to relevant/engaged follower base is part of the key. The trusted entities working together cause an increase in ranking.

Content+Followers+Engagement=Semantic Rank Impact

Mike also discussed some tests where the semantic relevance of Yelp reviews could trigger map pack results, all based on semantic relevance.

[🔥 HOT OFF THE PRESS 🔥 ] How to Write Killer Blog Posts Even If You Are a Lousy Writer Like Me

You, Ana? A LOUSY writer? Not a chance!!!

At least, that’s what I imagined (hoped!) you’d say when I wrote that post headline… 😂

But it’s true – writing has never been ‘my thing.’ It never came easy – always a struggle…

How does someone like me become a blogger? Good question…
