Never miss another great Community post

Never miss another great Community post

Great conversations make for vibrant Communities, and there’s no better conversation starter than an interesting post. But with all the activity lively Communities have, even the most compelling posts can slide out of view before you have a chance to see them. To make sure you never miss out on what’s up, we’re changing the way Community posts are displayed to show you the good stuff first.

Starting today, whenever you visit a Community, you’ll see the most high quality, relevant posts up top, rather than the just the most recent ones. Of course, if you’d like to switch back to chronological view, it’s easy to do so from the Community Settings / Preferences menu.

We’ll be rolling this out gradually, so please visit your favorite Community and let us know what you think!

* Turn animated comments (as seen on all streams) on and off.
* View poll results from the post menu (even if you haven’t voted yet)

As always, please keep sending us your ideas/issues using the Send Feedback menu item.

G+ Web Update Sept 9

G+ Web Update Sept 9
We’re rolling out two new features on the Google+ Web app today. First, when joining a Community on the recommended communities page, we’ll reveal a number of related additional suggestions.

Second, search autocomplete suggestions are now significantly faster and include personalized recommendations like collections you own, communities you’ve joined, and more relevant results specifically for you. Of course, you can still access full search results in addition to these autocomplete shortcuts which are intended to get you to what you’re looking for faster.

As always, please keep sending us your ideas/issues using the Send Feedback menu item.

You don’t have to be on plus.google.com to get these notifications. General Chrome browser notification settings can be managed under Content Settings in Chrome.

As always, please send us any ideas/issues using the Send Feedback menu item to ensure we see them.

New Notifications Center

New Notifications Center
We’re starting to roll out a new notifications center on the Google+ Web experience. Within it you can mark all notifications as read, quickly scan by notification type (comments, +1s, reshares), and filter all your notifications by All, Unread, and Other Updates. These filters are also available today on the Google+ iOS app.

This new Notifications Center our first version, with lots of updates to come. As such, please send us any ideas/issues using the Send Feedback menu item to ensure we see them.
