* 37 bugs fixed
* 17 accessibility issues addressed

As always more updates are on the way so please keep the ideas & issues coming by using our Send Feedback menu item. Thanks~

Google+ Accessibility

Google+ Accessibility
You may have noticed that I regularly call out the number of “accessibility issues addressed” in our releases. Accessibility plays a big role in our ongoing efforts and in the new Google+, we’ve optimized user interfaces on Android, iOS, and the Web for easier navigation with screen readers and keyboard controls. In the past year alone, we’ve found & fixed over 450 accessibility bugs.

Some recent updates:
* Improved keyboard support on the web: navigate, comment, +1, create new posts, and more
* Improved interactions with posts using both Talkback on Android and VoiceOver on iOS that save people significant time and effort
* Search accessibility improvements on all platforms, with autocomplete results announced when they’re available

You can read more about accessibility support on the Google+ Help Center page (https://support.google.com/plus/answer/6320404), and be sure to check out the user-created GPlus Accessibility Community (https://plus.google.com/communities/108884766040433463186).

As always, we’re continuing to listen to your suggestions and ideas. So please keep them coming using the Send Feedback menu item.
Thanks~

Plus Ones Restored

Plus Ones Restored
Today some of you may notice a jump in +1s on your older posts. We had an issue earlier that resulted in some +1s not being displayed correctly. As of today, that’s fully resolved and all your posts should show the right number of +1s.

Thanks to everyone who brought this to our attention and apologies for any problems~

How to restore comments flagged as spam by Google+

How to restore comments flagged as spam by Google+

My biggest complaint about the Google+ redesign is that the automated spam filter often falsely flags perfectly good comments as spam, and doesn’t let you restore them.

Some have suggested that the fix is to use the old system and not the new.

But it occurred to me today that you can use the new redesigned version nearly full-time, but dip into the old design just to restore falsely flagged comments.

Just use the the “Notifications” stream: https://plus.google.com/notifications

For some reason, Google throws you back into the old version for Notifications. There, you can find the falsely flagged comments and restore them.

Google+ Activity Log

Google+ Activity Log
Google+ now features a list of all your actions including posts, comments, +1s, votes, blocks, and much more. You can access your Activity Log on Android, iOS, and the Web from the Settings menu.

Filter the list to find recent comments or other actions you’ve made (I personally find this very useful when I want to re-find conversations I’ve participated in) or easily remove any action you’ve taken on Google+ using the X on each list item. Don’t worry, you’ll be asked to confirm before we actually delete anything.

As usual, you can tell us what you think about this new feature using the Send Feedback menu item. Thanks~

G+ Web Preview Update 12/18

G+ Web Preview Update 12/18
Today we’re continuing to improve our G+ preview on the Web based on your feedback and adding a new feature:

* +1 comments with one click using the action that appears when you hover over each comment
* View precisely when posts were made with the full timestamp on post pages
* Provide additional details when reporting abuse on posts. (I recognize this adds an additional click or two but the added information we collect helps us ensure G+ remains a great place to connect around shared interests.)

As before, we’re continuing to listen to your suggestions and ideas on how to improve G+ so please keep them coming using the Send Feedback menu item.
Thanks~

G+ iOS Update 5.1.0

G+ iOS Update 5.1.0
A new iOS app update is now available on Apple’s App Store. This version contains the following fixes & improvements:

* View +1s, comments, and reshares on posts
* Swipe left to mark notifications as read
* View follower count on profiles
* Tap on comments to reply
* Download photos (option in overflow menu)
* iPhone rotation support on most screens
* Pull to refresh on post screens
* Swipe from left edge of screen to go back
* Comment notifications scroll to the right comment
* Tap on a circle in the people list to see circle streams (circle members are now in the overflow menu)
* And more…

Your ongoing feedback has helped us identify these and other issues we’ll be addressing in future updates so please keep it coming using the Send Feedback menu. Thanks~

G+ Web Preview Update 12/11

G+ Web Preview Update 12/11
Today we’re rolling out several updates to our G+ preview on the Web including:

* Visible links to categories on Community pages
* Auto-play of animated GIFs (with a setting to turn on/off)
* Ability to pin posts within Collections
* Clearer indication of notifications on the home stream
* Warning to ensure you don’t lose new posts when changing pages

Some of these changes were unanimously requested (people want community categories visible!). Others required us to strike an appropriate balance between opposing feedback (some people love animated GIFs, others don’t!). In all cases, we really appreciate your thoughts so please keep them coming using the Send Feedback menu item.
Thanks~
